Katherine Heigl has opened herself about her experience of being raised in a "white bubble" and how the realization has affected how she parents her adopted multiracial children. She was in the movie "Firefly Lane", revealed to a reporter that it didn't matter what color her skin was for her. After meeting her Korean-American adopted older sister, she noticed the differences in the way people treated her and her. Meg was asked if she was treated differently when they were out together with their parents, and when they went alone. She responded "Oh sure! Every times!" Heigl told Parents, "That made me realise that I was so naive." She admitted that she was frustrated, but she felt the need to use this anger to support her children. Heigl as well as her husband of 13 years -- the musician Josh Kelley -- have four-year-old son Joshua Bishop Kelley, Joshua Bishop Kelley, Jr. They have adopted Nancy Leigh from South Korea aged 12 in 2009, and then Adalaide aged 8 who is now young and Black as of 2012.
