Beautiful pics of Tamara Day and Sarah Stiles feet & legs
One baby was strapped on my back, while one crawled inside the playpen. I stayed up all night days, for months, sanding and removing wallpaper, while carrying one kid. Ha! It was all starting to form, but we weren't anywhere near finished. In order to furnish the house it would be an enormous undertaking in terms of both time and funds. Also, I had to do my favourite shopping. To stay within my budget I took my kids along with me as I searched for gems hidden in estate sales. Our weekly routine was to walk from Thursday through Saturday through estate sales and garage sales, buying old and new pieces as well as spending weekends painting and sanding the driveway. My passion for furniture restoration began when I saw a style similar to this. Even though the house had been furnished, I could not stop. There was a market in the area for me to sell pieces. Eventually, I had too numerous pieces of furniture to fit into the space available. More than 1000 people came to my home over the course of a weekend to buy everything on the ground floor. Growing Days was founded in my own home. As my business flourished and so did our small family. I was balancing the demands of what it was like starting a business and be a mommy too. Growing Days was the obvious option. Nora joined us in 2013 as our 4th baby. It was a great direction for my business, however I was also in need of an escape. I decided to stop working on my antique furniture and be at home with the kids. It was just what I needed. It wasn't until a couple of months that my phone began to call. A lot of people contacted me seeking advice regarding home improvements and decor. Many of the people calling me came from people who visited my home at one of my furniture open house events. I began taking on clients at a time going at my own pace but it didn't take time before I was running numerous accounts and had the complete business of home remodeling. If you had told me that my venture would end up being an idea for the DIY Network show, I likely would have thought you were crazy. Actually, I smile at times when I think of it.
